Establishing Cerulean Studio is a product of my alignment of eclectic passions and life experiences. I grew up in the Australian outback and worked and travelled around Australia and Europe. In the mid-1990s I operated an outback tourism enterprise in Broken Hill, having trained as a registered nurse and worked in hospitality in the UK and in dive tourism in far north Queensland. Since then, I gained a Bachelor of Arts (Hon) and PhD in Public Health and have been working as an academic in Adelaide and travelling when I can.
I have connected more seriously with my artistic expression in recent years, largely thanks to my now adult sons who were and are my greatest inspirations. I am very much influenced by the dramatic, vibrant and often harsh colours of the Australian outback and I am fascinated by the stories of people, places and passions and I endeavour to bring these into my work. I am a current Bachelor of Visual Art student at the Adelaide Central School of Art.
I am privileged to have strong connections with the South of France, sharing a house with a small collective of friends in a beautiful working wine village in the stunning Occitanie (previously Languedoc) region. Along with the collective, we are keen to share our connection with that part of the world with other artists and artists at heart.
