Welcome to Cerulean Studio

We acknowledge the Ngarrindjeri, the First Nations People who are the traditional custodians of the land upon which Cerulean Studio is located at Meningie on the shores of Yarli/Lake Albert. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and recognise the history, culture and spirituality of all First Nations Peoples.

Cerulean Studio is located in Meningie, South Australia, a small town located on Yarli/Lake Albert and referred to as the gateway to the Coorong.
The studio moved from where it was initially established in Millswood (Adelaide, South Australia) in January 2026.

'“Cerulean” is derived from the Latin names for “sky colour” and “heaven”

    Establishing Cerulean Studio in 2021 was a product of my alignment of eclectic passions and life experiences. I grew up in the Australian outback and worked and travelled around Australia and Europe. In the mid-1990s I operated an outback tourism enterprise in Broken Hill, having trained as a registered nurse and worked in hospitality in the UK and in dive tourism in far north Queensland. Since then, I gained a Bachelor of Arts (Hon) and PhD in Public Health and worked as an academic in Adelaide for 20 years. In 2026 I made the move to Meningie, along with my partner Matt and border collie Simba, to focus more on my art practice at the beautiful Coorong.‍ I am also a current Bachelor of Visual Art student at the Adelaide Central School of Art.

    I am very much influenced by the dramatic, vibrant and often harsh colours of the Australian outback and I am fascinated by the stories of people, places and passions and I endeavour to bring these into my work.

    I am privileged to have strong connections with the South of France, sharing a house with a small collective of friends in a beautiful working wine village in the stunning Occitanie (previously Languedoc) region - also where I met Matt. We are keen to share our connection with that part of the world.
